I masnadieri
Giuseppe Verdi
Premiered in 1847, this powerful work is based on Friedrich von Schiller’s play Die Räuber and follows Carlo, the son of Count Massimiliano, who finds himself torn between a life of crime with a band of robbers and his devotion to his betrothed, Amalia. With its lush orchestration and emotionally charged arias, I Masnadieri showcases Verdi’s masterful storytelling and musical genius.
Under the baton of Maestro Anton Torbeev, Mikhail Gubsky stars as Carlo in the opera’s concert performance.
