The original version of Mussorgsky’s opera ‘Boris Godunov’ is back on the stage of the Novaya Opera Kolobov Theatre in Moscow. According to The Novaya Opera’s press-release, it ‘…brings back not only the original version of the opera composed by Mussorgsky in one go, but also the historical events surrounding the Time of Troubles, on which Alexander Pushkin’s drama is based’. Under the baton of Dmitry Volosnikov, Mikhail Gubsky will star as Prince Shuisky.
